REVISED Q1 REGISTRATION STATISTICS

The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) has issued revised registration stats for March and the first quarter of 2019, which show a significant improvement over 2018.


With a systems malfunction now corrected, year-to-date figures show a total market increase of 10.2 per cent, with motorcycles up by 9.6 per cent and scooters 12.5 percent.

Highlights of March 2019, over March 2018 include the Adventure sector, which is increased by 18.8 per cent and Naked, which includes the Retro category, continuing its popularity by posting a March result up by 18.0 per cent.

Previously published January and February statistics also included slight variations – total registrations for January were actually 9.5 per cent, rather than 8.7 per cent and, for February, 11.1 per cent, as opposed to 10.5 per cent.
