At an Isle of Man TT press call last weekend, RST announced its plans to market an all-new airbag integrated range, and outlined its partnership with In&Motion - experts in engineering wearable airbag systems.

The RST announcement detailed that; “Just as armour is integrated into garments, the best way to improve rider safety is to fully integrate In&Motion’s airbag technology into RST garments. We understand what the rider needs when it comes to both safety and appearance, so we leapt at the challenge of combining our skills to create the first integrated airbag garment, that combines comfort, discretion and high-end safety protection”.

It further stated; “We have been working together to bring a special “Road Racing” algorithm dedicated to the Isle of Man TT. This has all been successful given the partnerships we have with our top RST factory riders, namely Ian Hutchinson and the travelling marshals, whom have been testing the garments and technology throughout 2019. We believe that leveraging these riders, and this partnership with In&Motion, would demonstrate the technology being used in the world’s most demanding racing environment.”

The RST airbag integrated range will be available March 2020.
