SUPPORT TONY'S ‘LONGEST DAY’ CHARITY CHALLENGE - TOMORROW

June 20th, 2019.

The MCIA’s Chief Executive, Tony Campbell, will be participating in ‘The Longest Day Up Challenge’ tomorrow, a gruelling motorcycle journey covering over 1,000 miles, which will be completed in just one day.

This will be the sixth event of its kind, organised and completed by participants who use their passion for motorcycling to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. To date the events have generated over £100,000 which has been used to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

This test of endurance takes place tomorrow, the 21st of June, the longest day of the year, and Campbell, on his Aprilia Pegaso, will join the dedicated team of riders at sunrise at Land’s End and follow a designated route to arrive at John O’Groats by sunset the same day.

Said Campbell; “Unfortunately, we all know someone who has been affected by cancer. My father lost his life at the early age of 64 from an aggressive type of leukemia where he endured a short battle of just three weeks from diagnosis to losing his life.

"Whilst treatments are improving all the time, this devastating disease continues to affect a greater number of people than ever before, so cancer research needs our help!

"Please give generously to this fantastic cause, as not only will you be supporting the work of Cancer Research UK, you can also smile at my suffering, alone, miles from home, lost, out of fuel.......somewhere out there in the wilderness that is the Watford Gap Services or somewhere similar …”
