10TEN MXE-RS – THE EMX SPARKS FACTORY EDITION

March 27th, 2025.

The EMX Sparks team has been developing the 10TEN MXE-RS into a race-spec bike, designed to take on the established brands currently dominating the E3 and E5 electric motocross auto classes.

Mark Thomas of MT3 Events, the company behind EMX Sparks – a six-round fully-electric race series based in Wales – has a wealth of knowledge in the field of electric bike racing. He is passionate about the scope and future of sustainable energy and how that can translate into eco-friendly racing. Mark is a time-served mechanical engineer with over 40 years of experience in motocross, both on and off the track. He is also a qualified teacher, delivering motorcycle maintenance and engineering education to young people – bridging the gap between grassroots learning and high-performance competition.

The 10TEN already delivers unparalleled quality and performance to the club racing and leisure riding sectors. The race-ready upgrade is intended to elevate its status within racing circles.

As standard, the MXE-RS has a powerplant that can achieve 3000kW of continuous power which means it can run within the E3 or E5 classes. However, to make the 10TEN super-competitive, EMX Sparks has uprated the machine with new controllers, supplied by the UK distributor Dualways, meaning the all-new youth MX machine can attain 8,500kWs, making it a real on-track contender.

Suspension is another area coming under the 10TEN race upgrade spotlight. It’s no secret that, for serious competitors, without great handling, power alone is not enough. To this end, Dualways and EMX Sparks are working with a leading aftermarket shock and suspension brand to develop a unit that will fit in as a bolt-on upgrade.

Modified 10” wheels and Renthal handlebars complete the 10TEN MXE-RS race-spec improvement, which will be raced by selected riders in both E5 and E3 classes of the six-round EMX Sparks British Masters 2025 series that gets underway over the weekend of the 19th and 20th of April at Monster Mountain, Merthyr Tydfil.

Mark Thomas, of MT3 Events, said;
“With these updates to the power and handling, we believe the 10TEN MXE-RS will be up there with the front runners. There is a huge scope for improvement on what is already a solid machine, and we can’t wait to see it in action.”

Henry Maplethorpe of Dualways added; “This collaboration with MT3 Events and EMX Sparks presents us with a perfect opportunity to develop our electric youth motocross bikes. It also gives us the chance to place the uprated 10TEN MXE-RS into a racing situation to really test its competitive credentials.”
