The ‘Amped Race to Manchester’, a joint initiative between Dualways, the worldwide distributor of Amped electric balance bikes and 10Ten MX bikes, and the promoter of the Arenacross World Tour was voted a resounding success. With an emphasis on raising awareness of two of its youth-focussed brands, Dualways tapped into the extensive reach of Arenacross, giving its Amped and 10Ten brands, together with its dealer network, exposure to a whole new audience.
The promotion kicked off at the opening round of Arenacross, back in early January, when parents were invited to send in video clips of their offspring riding their balance bikes. They were asked to outline why they should be one of the 10 riders selected to race at the final round of the series at Manchester in front of a packed arena last weekend. Hundreds of applications were received and finally whittled down to just 10 enthusiastic five- and six-year-olds.
The very excited little superstars rode Amped A20 Pro or A16 bikes (according to size) in front of 6,000+ cheering spectators on the same turf as the big guys. The winner walked away with an all-new 10Ten MXE-RS electric motocross bike. That bike went to a delighted Rafe Harwood, who took the race win over Marley Butler in second with Harley Beckett in third.
Summing up the initiative, Dualways managing director Henry Maplethorpe said; “Working with Arenacross allowed us to put our Amped and 10Ten brands in front of thousands of people who previously wouldn’t have heard of us. Regarding the race itself at Manchester … the positive feedback from the families, on both the event and our Amped bikes, confirmed that it was a brilliant experience for all involved and a fantastic incentive for the next generation of racing stars.”
