Dunlop has become an official sponsor to the 2024 FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE), marking the return of the Dunlop Geomax Challenge which supports club and amateur riders in this annual event. The ISDE returns to Europe this October with a challenging route through the middle-height mountain landscapes of Galicia. It is the first time that the event has been held in this region of north-west Spain, but the fifth time the nation has hosted the event, with the most recent edition on Spanish soil staged in 2016 in Navarra.
Central to Dunlop’s involvement in the ISDE is the Dunlop Geomax EN91 enduro tyre, which provides riders with versatility and grip over a wide range of riding conditions. Its compound, which features hexagonal and tilted crown blocks, was specifically designed to provide agile handling and the highest grip on off-road surfaces, also helping to reduce rider fatigue over long distances. As a result, the innovative tyre has proven to be a winning choice for enduro riders of all levels.
In recent years, Dunlop’s Geomax EN91 tyres have carried winning teams and riders to victory. Team USA celebrated victory of the World Trophy at the 2019 ISDE, matching the feat at the following edition in 2021 to claim victory in the Women’s World Trophy class. This year, Dunlop-equipped teams will hope to replicate the success that these teams have achieved in previous editions of the event.
Dunlop Geomax ChallengeDunlop first sponsored the ISDE in 2021 for its 95th edition, where it introduced the Dunlop Geomax Challenge. This challenge underscores Dunlop’s commitment to the event, created to support and promote club and amateur riders in the most gruelling of endurance competitions.
The Dunlop Geomax Challenge is available for every entrant that chooses to race with Dunlop Geomax EN91 tyres and allows access to benefits, including exclusive prizes for the top five riders. Dunlop will operate its racing service on-site in Galicia to facilitate tyre servicing for every entrant that chooses Dunlop Geomax EN91.
In this year's edition of the event, all participants in the Dunlop Geomax Challenge will receive an official Dunlop rider garment kit, with the top-performing riders being honoured on the Dunlop Challenge podium during the ISDE official prize-giving ceremony. Based on their finishing positions, riders will compete to win a variety of prizes, such as Dunlop podium caps, bespoke challenge trophies, a Dunlop-branded paddock tent, and MXGP VIP passes.
Roberto Finetti, Marketing Manager, Dunlop Motorcycle Europe, commented: “Dunlop is proud to be returning as an official sponsor to the FIM ISDE in 2024, continuing our partnership for the third consecutive European edition of this historic event. The fact that club-level riders in this competition can race with the same Dunlop Geomax EN91 tyres as the top-level teams is a testament to the high quality and accessibility of Dunlop’s Geomax range. We therefore look forward to supporting teams and riders of all levels, from professionals battling for the overall victory, to club and amateur riders racing as part of the Dunlop Geomax Challenge.”
Fabio Muner, FIM Marketing & Digital Director, added: “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Dunlop for this year’s event, a relationship that has seen us work together for five years since we first joined forces in 2019. The Dunlop Geomax EN91 tyre is highly regarded in the sport of Enduro and the ISDE will again provide the ultimate testing platform for this product. Dunlop will bring important technical support to the amateur competitors who will be able to enter the Dunlop Geomax Challenge. Finally on behalf of the FIM I would like to thank Dunlop for renewing its support.”
The 2024 FIM ISDE takes place from 14th-19th October in Galicia, Spain. Riders that intend to race with Dunlop Geomax EN91 tires are advised to pre-order their tires and mousses as the available stock in the paddock will be extremely limited.
