QuadBikesRUS (QBRUS), one of the longest-standing ATV dealerships in the UK, is well known for its partnership with Yamaha, its excellent customer services, workshop expertise and support of the quad-racing and ATV scene.

QBRUS also offers a fully featured Dyno rolling road and a Vortex-tuning service designed to optimise performance without breaking the bank.

QBRUS is well established with its Dyno service, but when the business moved to new and larger premises in 2022 in Maldon, Kent, to cater for its growing ATV business and newly-adopted Yamaha motorcycle dealership, the marketing of the Dyno side of the business was overshadowed for a while.

That service has now been refreshed at the recently expanded Essex-based premises and incorporates Vortex software, which allows the QBRUS workshop to fine-tune machines to individual customer needs.

Well-known quad racer Geoff Otway and Yamaha European Technician winner Liam Coffey are the men in charge of the technical side of the QBRUS/QBS Powersports business. “Our Dyno Pro rolling road caters for ATVs and off/on-road motorcycles. It’s what we do with the Vortex programming that makes the difference. There are pre-set programmes on the Vortex box, which we then fine-tune to suit the individual quad or bike’s needs.

“The biggest thing we work with is fuelling. If the air-fuel ratio isn’t right, then it has a big impact on performance. If it’s not nailed down, then that can result in significant loss of power.

"Fine tuning on the dyno isn't necessarily about getting more power. It's about getting more controllable power. This is what helps overall performance, making the bike easier to ride faster."

STOP PRESS … QBRUS technician Liam Coffey, who won the UK leg of the Yamaha National Technician Grand Prix in December, went on to win the hotly-contested Yamaha European Technician Grand Prix in the Netherlands earlier this week. His next challenge will be the Yamaha World Technician Grand Prix, in Japan, to face-off against the best Yamaha technicians in the world!
