Goodyear has a vacancy for a Business Development Manager with Dunlop Motorcycle Tyres. It’s a field-based role covering London and South Midlands.


The advertised position is as follows:

The Role
You will develop sales of Dunlop motorcycle tyres and increase share of market in your region in both road and off-road dealerships as well as with tyre specialists. Managing and capitalising on business opportunities within the southern region to develop the Dunlop motorcycle network and deliver results in line with the EMEA volume and EBIT targets.

The BDM will be expected to spend on average 4 days a week in the market, supporting the existing dealer network and developing relationships with prospective business partners.

You will manage every aspect of an account where Goodyear has any contact/contribution, including sales in, sales out, credit limits, logistics, ordering, fleet, marketing, POS, education and training.
Achieve sales objectives (volume and net gross margin) by collaboratively planning the business within the territory and working strategically with customers to achieve agreed objectives for both Goodyear and customer.

Extend the Dunlop motorcycle network with the appointment of new business partners, introducing them to the Dunlop brand and assisting them in building the Dunlop volume in their area.
Revise and review the Master Distribution Plan that supports the strategic objectives of the Motorcycle business unit on a monthly basis.

Understand the attributes of the brands and products we sell and educate customers.
Develop an understanding of the UK motorcycle tyre market and the wider motorcycle industry to provide the MRI Department with insightful information, enabling informed decision making to gain competitive advantage.

Skills, Education & Experience

Proven account management experience, ideally in the motorcycle industry.
Direct sales experience.
Demonstrated success selling to retail dealer networks.
Able to build strong relationships and foster social interaction with customers.
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
Sound financial acumen
Professional approach
A good communicator with strong written and numerical skills
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
