MT Helmets continues to take giant steps forward. Not only is it the only helmet company with its own team in the MotoGP World Championship, but now it is scanning in 3D the heads of each of the MT Riders. The KRE+, a high-end racing helmet developed by MT Helmets, will be even more special in 2023, because thanks to a 3D scanning process, riders will be able to be fitted with a helmet that is millimetrically tailored to them.
Thanks to the MotoGP World Championship having its final race at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, the MT Helmets engineering team went to the Valencian track last Thursday, November 3, 2022, to carry out the head scanning of its riders using a structured white light system.
With the data collected, the work process begins, and will result in the production of a very special series of custom-made helmets for each of our MT Helmets world championship riders.
With this innovation, the MT Helmets Racing Service, directed by Iván Silva, acquires a new dimension; the riders of the Spanish brand now have, in addition to an outstanding treatment by the former MotoGP rider, a helmet tailor-made for each one of them.
Alberto Murcia, Director of the Research and Development Department for MT Helmets: "Performing this scan allowed us to capture the geometry of our riders' heads in order to precisely adapt them to the internal structure of their helmets. This reduces the movement and inertia of the helmet caused by high speeds and heavy braking. We will use all the information we have gathered during the day to analyse it in our facilities and apply the new knowledge in the development of next season's helmets."
ABOUT THE KRE+The KRE+ is the flagship of MT Helmets, a helmet that has been developed in competition to offer road users the best helmet made in Spain. A model that before reaching the market has already achieved a World Champion title, and is expecting many more.
• The MT KRE+ is a 100% carbon fibre sport helmet that has FIM homologation, which allows it to compete in all international competitions.
• Although it has been developed in competition, it is a perfectly good helmet for road use. In fact, the helmet of the World Championship riders is exactly the same as the one that is in the stores.
The KRE+ comes in different decorations, featuring the replica graphics of riders like Pedro Acosta and Sergio García.
