March 24th, 2026.
Motorcycle apparel brand RST will enter its own official team, TeamRST, at the 2026 Isle of Man TT. Leading the charge will be 16-time TT race winner Ian Hutchinson, who will compete aboard a BMW Superbike and Superstock machine. This landmark moment signifies the first time RST has run its own team at the Isle of Man TT, a move that underscores the brand’s continuous commitment to the iconic road race.
As the longtime Official Safety Partner of the Isle of Man TT, RST has played a critical role in protecting competitors at the event. The launch of TeamRST is a natural evolution of that commitment, moving from protecting the grid, to competing at the front of it.
Ian Hutchinson, one of the TT’s most respected and successful competitors, delivers unparalleled experience to the project. With 16 Isle of Man TT victories to his name, Hutchinson’s pedigree and determination make him the ideal rider to spearhead RST’s debut team effort. Campaigning both BMW Superbike and Superstock machinery, TeamRST will combine proven race-winning talent with elite technical partners to build a competitive package for 2026.
The project is supported by a line-up of technical and performance partners, including Arai, EK Chain, D3O, Motul, In&motion and Quad Lock, alongside key collaborators PBR Sprockets, Focused Events, BMC, and SMR Performance. Together, these partners will play an integral role in developing the bike, equipment, and performance infrastructure required to compete at the highest level of TT racing.
Commenting on the RST initiative, Ian Hutchinson said; “It’s been 21 years since I last ran my own team, and now feels like the right time to do it again. It’s slightly daunting, but this project is very personal to me. After everything I’ve experienced at the TT I still have that drive to prove we can compete at the very front. Everyone involved has come on this journey with me, and I want it to work for all of us. To be building this team together with these amazing partners who’ve supported me for so long means a lot. We’re aiming for that one spot, and I want everyone to get something out of this.”
Stuart Millington, VP of RST added; “Launching TeamRST is a defining moment for our brand. We’re doing this with one goal, giving Ian the package he needs to win at this year’s Isle of Man TT and NW200. As the Official Safety Partner for both events we’ve been committed to protecting riders for many years, and have been working with Ian for over 15 years. Ian is one of the most accomplished and determined competitors in TT history and his experience makes him the perfect rider to lead this project. TeamRST is about showcasing the very best of our technical innovation, our partners, and our belief in performance without compromise.”
