The FIM Motocross World Championship season begins this weekend with some of the series’ top teams and riders once again equipped with Dunlop. Dunlop goes into 2023 with the expectation of victories and podiums with the race-winning performance of its tyre range already proven.

The World Championship began yesterday at Villa La Angostura, Argentina. The 19-round season will visit 17 countries, underlining a packed schedule that will take the championship to many destinations across Europe, South America and Asia, including a brand new venue in the Vietnamese province of Thanh Hoa on 17th September. The United Kingdom will host the final round on 1st October at Matterley Basin.

Dunlop will support seven teams across MXGP and MX2. In MXGP, Kawasaki Racing Team continues with Dunlop, looking to add to its tally of victories. Its riders, 2015 MXGP champion Romain Febvre and up-and-coming talent Mitch Evans, will each aim to take multiple victories and contend for the title.

Long-time Dunlop team Standing Construct has switched to Honda bikes for its riders Pauls Jonass and 2022 Lommel winner Brian Bogers, who will be looking for more success in 2023. Furthermore, privateer outfit JWR Honda Racing has chosen Dunlop for its riders Alvin Östlund and Hardi Roosiorg.

MX2 teams gearing up for another season
Dunlop will equip four MX2 teams this year, including Husqvarna’s factory Nestaan team with riders Roan van de Moosdijk, Lucas Coenen and Kay de Wolf. Joining them are Kawasaki teams F&H and Big Van World MTX, as well as KTM privateer Jan Pancar.

Dunlop teams in all classes will predominantly race with the Geomax MX14 and MX33 designs for sand/mud and intermediate surfaces, respectively.

WMX Motocross World Championship: Duncan aiming for a fourth world title
The FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship will visit six MXGP venues in 2023. Three-time champion Courtney Duncan has chosen Dunlop once again as she hopes to retake the title. Six-time champion Kiara Fontanesi makes her return to the series and, along with 15-year-old Lotte van Drunen, will also race on Dunlop tyres in the closely contested championship which starts in Sardegna on 26th March and concludes in Turkey on 3rd September.
