WHAT IS HJC's RPHA AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

December 15th, 2023.

HJC began manufacturing motorcycle helmets on the Korean peninsula in 1971 and rapidly gained a global reputation for well-priced, well-fitting, well-built helmets.

During the 1990s, HJC came to dominate the sales charts in North America before turning its attention to the highly competitive, sports bike dominated European market. Here, track-focused products held the high ground so, alongside its mass market road-friendly designs, HJC began the process of learning what it takes to build the ultimate helmet
for the track.

What followed was huge and prolonged investment in advanced design and engineering facilities - including wind tunnels for aerodynamic performance - and the development of cutting edge material and manufacturing processes.

In the process, HJC found itself with not only the best products for use on the track, but also for use on the road. Smaller, lighter, quieter, safer, simpler to use, easier to live with…

...in 2012, RPHA was born.

RPHA Series
RPHA’s promise to ‘reinvent performance’ is delivered in the form of several bespoke technologies which are implemented across the series to elevate the products from the rest of the HJC range.

RPHA Current Range:
RPHA 1
RPHA 12
RPHA 11
RPHA 71
RPHA 91
RPHA 31

RPHA key Technologies:

Superior ventilation

“ACS” Advanced Channeling Ventilation System: with intakes and exhausts, full front-to-back airflow flushes heat and humidity up and out.

Aero performance
HJC test the RPHA series in their own wind tunnel testing laboratory. This allows for meticulous evaluation of critical factors including aerodynamics, ventilation efficiency and noise reduction.

Wide eye port
Wide angled vision allows for a greater field of view on both the track and road, perfect for when the head is down in an aero riding position.

Locking mechanism
The RPHA series uses a two way locking mechanism. As the visor closes, the ratchet pulls the visor backwards for improved sealing.

Emergency kit
In the event of an emergency and rescue situation, the internal cheek pads can be removed from the helmet easily, to ensure no trauma is caused when removing the helmet from the rider.

Multiple shell sizes
Having a well fitting helmet is key to a comfortable and safe ride. The RPHA range of helmets are all offered in multiple shell sizes so the rider is able to find the perfect fit.

Premium integrated matrix
Reinforcement materials, including carbon and carbon-glass hybrid fabric, provide enhanced shock-resistant performance, more comfort, and lightness of the helmet.

Anti-Fog technology
The RPHA series helmets are all ready to accept Pinlock® technology. The moisture absorbing surface of the lens effectively attracts and stores water molecules while the airtight seal creates a thermal barrier, together preventing condensation of the visor.
