45 YEARS OF BICKERS

April 1st, 2020.

Parts and accessories distributor Bickers celebrates its 45th birthday of wholesale trading tomorrow.

Established in 1975, Bickers was founded by motocross champion and all-round motorcycle enthusiast Dave Bickers. Today, the company lives on in the hands of Derek McMartin, and will celebrate its 45th birthday on Thursday 2nd April.

Bickers began as a motorcycle parts and accessories shop in Ipswich in the 1960s. Bickers enjoyed rapid expansion and began to supply other motorcycle shops in the then-known area of Anglia. The growth in distribution took the Bickers shop away from its original business, so on 2nd April 1975 Dave Bickers formed Anglia Accessories. This new wholesale company was supplied by a specialist importer of motorcycle products owned by Peter McMartin; the first independent supplier of Japanese aftermarket parts to the UK. Both companies merged in the 80s.

In 2005, the company moved from its original base in Ipswich to a 3.5-acre site in Felixstowe where it has continued to grow and thrive and prides itself on remaining at the forefront of good customer service. Bickers has implemented the use of new technology to enable next-day delivery on every order and has created a comprehensive website for its customers to order their stock easily and efficiently.

Bickers has a constantly-evolving product range in line and claims its dealers can be sure of receiving the highest-quality products at great prices which, in turn, will enable them to offer an impressive and relevant product range to their customers.

Bickers will be celebrating its 45th birthday a little differently in light of the current situation, and rather than holding a celebratory event, will instead provide every one of its existing customers a 4.5 per cent discount on any orders placed via bickers-online.co.uk between the 2nd to the 9th of April 2020 when the code ‘BIRTHDAY’ is entered at the checkout.
