Experienced motorcycle journalist and bike tester Bruce Wilson has taken over the editorship of Fast Bikes magazine.Wilson, who’s been reading the magazine for more than 15 years, has been working closely with the editorial team since the publication was acquired by Mortons Media Group in 2014.
He will replace the departing Simon Roots, who is leaving to take up a position at KTM.
Commenting on his new direction Wilson said: “This is my dream job, and I’m absolutely buzzing to have been tasked with taking Fast Bikes forward over the coming years. Simon will be a hard act to follow, but I’m confident that I can build on his excellent work and continue giving the readers what they want to see from their magazine.”
Starting his publishing career in advertising sales, Wilson has worked on several of Mortons’ motorcycle titles in the past decade – most recently as deputy editor of
Motorcycle Sport & Leisure.
Announcing the appointment, publishing director Dan Savage said: “Bruce is known and respected in the industry, and there aren’t many motorcycle journalists out there who can boast as impressive a CV.
“If there’s been a significant bike launch in the last five years, Bruce has been there – and he’s been riding and testing machines all over the world on the road, off-road and on the track.
“He knows and understands Fast Bikes and is more than capable of driving the magazine forward in terms of sales and advertising, while ensuring it stays true to its original roots as a byword for two-wheeled hedonism. There’s no doubt that he’s the right man for the job.”
Bruce’s first issue at the helm will be on sale in early February at all major newsagents and retailers, as well as online via the publisher.
